Discover the historic heart of the city as you explore Diocletian’s Palace, including a visit to the impressive Diocletian’s Cellars, before continuing to the iconic Golden Gate, once reserved exclusively for the emperor and his family. Stroll through the elegant Peristil, the former imperial square, set against the striking backdrop of the Cathedral of St Domnius—one of the world’s oldest Christian buildings and the city’s most important landmark.
The tour highlights Split’s unique blend of ancient history and modern life, where Roman mosaics and Egyptian sphinxes coexist with vibrant festivals, luxury yachts, and the traditional fishing port of Matejuška.
The experience concludes with a guided tasting of two premium extra virgin olive oils from Dalmatia and Istria, along with two authentic local wine varietals. Learn how to recognise olive oil quality and discover indigenous wine styles, complemented by thoughtfully paired accompaniments including fleur de sel, aged red wine vinegar, freshly baked bread, cow and mixed-milk cheeses, dry fig jam, and green olive tapenade.
